When I'm not busy with school work I enjoy engaging in a variety of activities. One of my favorite activities is running. In 2006, I had the privilege and honor of both running and completing the New York marathon. I hope to encourage my students to physically fit, as I believe that its important to be healthy in both body and mind.
I also enjoy reading. My mother is a teacher for the academically gifted and through her guidance I've had the opportunity and the privilege of reading a great number of books. Some of my favorite are the following: Rebbecca, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, Pride and Prejudice, and Phantom of the Opera. My job as a teacher is to encourage students to read, so they might also be able to gain insight and knowledge of their own.
My favorite thing to do is to travel. Over the short span of my life I've had the great opportunity to travel to a great number of places. I hope to share my knowledge of these travels in the classroom, as well as initiate field trips. Because I believe that the best lessons are taught outside the classroom.
